blackberry 9630Research In Motion has presented the new BlackBerry 9630 Tour, a 3G smartphone in size in which it lacks a QWERTY keyboard with 35 keys. “BlackBerry continues to be the best selling smartphone in North America and we are proud to add this powerful new 3G phone to our product portfolio,” said Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at Research In Motion. “With its striking design and exceptional performance, the new BlackBerry Tour will offer a vital choice for the growing number of customers who want to switch from one mobile to a smartphone.”

BlackBerry 9630 Tour measuring 112 x 62 x 14.2 mm and weighs 130 grams. This smartphone is capable of operating on 3G networks Dual-Band 800/1900 MHz CDMA / EVDO Rev A in North America and also on networks Quad-Band GSM / GPRS / EDGE and 3G UMTS / HSPA (2100Mhz). Tour the BlackBerry is, in fact, a “world phone,” as defined by the Canadian producer.

BlackBerry Tour in 9630 is a 2.44 inch display with a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels and 65mila displayable colors, a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash and aufotocus, jack standard 3.5 mm for the insertion of headphones, Bluetooth connectivity with profiles A2DP/AVCRP (no connectivity Wi-Fi), 256 MB of internal memory expandable with microSD / SDHC up to 32GB, integrated GPS receiver and a 1400 mAh battery that provides a range of 5 hours talk time or 14 days on standby.

The new BlackBerry Tour 9630 will be marketed in North America during this summer and should be available in Europe and other world markets over the coming months.
