With Net10 you get a single rate for every call--10 cents a minute--whether it's local, long distance or roaming. This phone features a color LCD screen, handsfree speakerphone, several organizer tools including scheduler and world clock, a phonebook with up to 500 entries, and up to 7 hours of talk time.

Net10 Service
The Net10 pay-as-you-go wireless service offers all local, long distance and roaming calls at one low price of 10 cents per minute. All Net10 prepaid wireless service is provided by TracFone Wireless--America's #1 prepaid wireless company with a national footprint covering 99 percent of the U.S. population. There are no contracts, credit checks, monthly fees, security deposits, activation or deactivation charges, or age restrictions.

All Net10 handsets have a display that shows the actual airtime balance on the phone's display for ease of tracking usage. Net10 handsets also carry an "instant refill" feature that allows users to add airtime directly from the handset on a real-time basis. Key digital features include free call waiting, free caller ID, free voicemail and text messaging at 5 cents per message.

You can buy bundles of minutes (which must be used within a set time limit of between 90 to 365 days) from the Net10 web site on your home PC or directly from your phone's web browser. For example, a purchase of 200 minutes of usage expires within 30 days of your first use. The amount of service time varies depending on how many minutes you purchase, and any minutes leftover from the previous purchase will be rolled over. If you do not purchase and add more airtime before a due date, your service will be deactivated and existing minutes will expire.

You can also choose to call or text anyone in the U.S. on any network as much as you want for only $79.98 a month without signing a contract. Additionally, you can sign up for international long distance calling to over 60 international destinations (including Argentina, Brazil, China, Mexico, most European countries, and many more) from your Net10 phone for only 5 cents per minute plus airtime.

The phone's small internal memory can store up to 500 contact entries in the handset's phone book, which is capable of storing multiple phone numbers per contact entry and offers support for picture and ringer ID (when used with caller groups).

Best Deal Around

In this age where Bluetooth, WiFi, touchscreen, mp3/video players, FM radio, GPS navigation, PDAs, memory expansion slots, voice recognition, web browsers, digital cameras, polyphonic ringtones, etc. are being incorporated into mobile phones, the LG 300 is a severely stripped-down phone that doesn't have ANY of the aforementioned features. It's just a bare-bones, no-frills phone that's reminiscent of the mobile phones in the 90's. Not surprisingly, then, the LG 300 is nothing to write home about.

But I will say this -- the LG 300 is sleek and one of the most compact and lightweight mobile phones I've seen. The battery life on standby time is about 4 days. I can't speak to its battery life on talk time because I've never had a long enough phone conversation to determine it. It uses a lithium ion battery so there won't be a problem with "memory effect."

If you need a basic cell phone for making an occasional call or for emergencies, this compact phone is a good deal and Net10 is a good service to go with:

Free Phone
----------
For starters, for 30 bucks you get this phone PLUS 300 minutes. Since Net10 sells add-on 300 minutes in airtime for 30 bucks, you're in effect getting this phone for free.

Cheap Rates
-----------
At 10 cents per minute for local or long distance calls, the Net10 phone service is simply the best deal. Text messages cost only 5 cents to send or receive.

No Hidden Charges
-----------------
No wireless contracts or penalties for early cancellation. No roaming charges. 10 cents per minutes, plain and simple.

Rollover minutes
----------------
If you buy more minutes before your old minutes expire, your old minutes will roll over and expire the same time as your new minutes. Minutes will keep rolling over for as long as add more minutes before your current minutes expire.

The airtime available for purchase come in 150, 300, and 180 minutes:

cost in dollars/airtime in minutes/expiration in days
15/150/30
30/300/60
180/1800/60

3 Convenient Ways To Add Minutes
--------------------------------
You can add minutes by:
1) buying Net10 phone cards
2) buying airtime through the Net10 Website
3) buying airtime directly from the LG 300 phone.

To buy airtime directly from the phone, you are required to set up a PIN at the Net10 Website. You will be asked for this PIN whenever you add airtime through your phone.

Decent Coverage
---------------
Net10 reportedly uses both AT&T (formerly Cingular) and T-Mobile networks. Most of the time, I have no problems with coverage in my area, although I do get dropped calls every now and then.

Customer Service
----------------
Net10 could definitely use some work on their customer service. I had to call customer service on at least a couple of occasions for (1) minutes failing to appear on my phone after I've purchased airtime and (2) problem transferring my phone number from an old phone to a new phone. It took about half an hour for them to credit me for my minutes and almost an hour to get my number transferred to my new phone. Part of the problem is _communication_ with the operators. It was a little frustrating getting them to *listen* and *understand* the issues I was trying to explain to them. But I will say that at the very least their operators are courteous.

If you can get past their customer service - well - Net10 offers very competitive rates. Hopefully you won't have to deal with their tech support, ever. Many of the support you need is automated on the Web. Things like transferring your old number to a new phone can now be done yourself through their Website.

Conclusion
----------
The Net 10 service offers the best prepaid rates bar none. If you need a cell phone for making an occasional call or for emergencies, the Net 10 phones will fit the bill perfectly.
Perfect phone for a kid

i purchased this net10 phone at a Radio Shack after researching online for a while. I've never had a 'track' phone so I didn't want to screw it up. This phone is for my 7-almost-8-year old twins to take to camp. This one comes with 300 minutes and 60 days of service. WE LOVE IT! I don't get the bad reviews I've seen on Amazon, except it definately is not as nice as an I-Phone or Blackberry. But for my little girls, it is easy, fun(has a few games), cute standard backgrounds/ring tones and even gets reception in notorious areas of town that MY cellPHONE doesn't! I've had to use their phone a few times because mine didn't work!

Also, the Radio Shack clerks set it up in the store, I paid $29.99 plus tax and viola, in 5 minutes we have a great little cell phone for my kids!

I love that the display shows how many days of service you have, plus you can add minutes/time directly from the phone! When my Sprint phone 2-year contract expires next month, I'm getting one of these too! NOTE: Only charge for 5 hours at a time; do NOT overcharge or it will stop working. Otherwise, its absolutely perfect!
Great Phone

I bought this phone when I was in town for leave and will definitely be reactivating it when I get back to the states. The phone plans are no strings attached, and I can buy minutes straight off my phone, in a store, or off the internet. The website is easy to use, and the phone isn't cheap at all. This might even replace my current cell phone plan. Very pleased overall.
Best Reception

I live in the basement apartment. I used to have Sprint's Razr V3 which frustated me to death coz once I was at home, I lost the signals or had to wait for roaming signals to make and to receive calls...plus I always had dropped calls..ALWAYS!! Damn Sprint! I was soo frustated which I had finally accepted that there was no signals received ever in my basement. Then oneday, my good friend was visiting, and lo and behold..his net 10's LG 300 phone was ringing and he was talking festively on the phone unaware of my frustation about signals while I just looked at him with mouth opened. Right away, I went to walmart, grabbed the phone, activated it..and voila..me talking on the phone in my lovely basemet...what a miracle! I am going to terminate my Sprint which I always pay $50-$70/month which I never use all the minutes and save $40 bucks with Net 10! God bless Net 10! oh btw, this review coming from light user phone whom just used less thatn 300 mins in month.
Great Product and Service :)

The LG300 is impressive. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about this phone and service. Net10 saves people tons compared to monthly cell contracts. By simply switching over to this service, it results in great savings, great coverage, and great phones (especially this one). It's high quality and really really easy to use. Great job Net10! Got it for the perfect low price on Amazon as well :)

It doesn’t cook breakfast, walk the dog or fly, but if you’re seeking a good, solid dependable phone to talk and text, this LG rocks. Not only that, but since it comes loaded with 300 minutes upon activation, it’s FREE.

FREE IS GOOD!

With calls only 10c a minute and texts 5c, plus international calls for 15c, this is a FABULOUS deal!
